A joke for you:
Question: How many songwriters does it take to change a lightbulb?
Songwriter: “I’m not changing anything!”
I’ve been thinking a lot about this joke…cause it definitely applies to me this month! Tomorrow, I am signing off on the master tracks for my new EP, Little Big Sky. The graphics are done, the liner notes are written, and now, the final master needs to be ok’d, and we’re off! Wheee!
It seems like just yesterday when I hopped on a plane and headed down to Nashville to record it. I flew down on a Saturday, narrowly missing Hurricane Irene…imagine people clutching air sickness bags in a confined roller coaster and you get the idea. I was lucky to work with some of my favorite people down there (Glen Duncan, Tommy White just to name a few) and also met some new people who are now my favorite people (Jim “Moose” Brown, James Mitchell just to name a few). I also had the pleasure of working with my favorite producers from Brave and Wild – Jan Stolpe and Lorne Entress and of course, my engineer, Andy Pinkham.
In this country, we’re known for doing things in a big way, right? Well, that’s certainly the case for Little Big Sky. Sure, it’s an EP, but it’s a king-sized country EP featuring seven songs full of big sounds. It’s rocking one minute, lush and intimate the next, and hopefully, busting at the seams with good songs. I’m very proud of it and can’t wait to share it with you!!
